Back To Links At the church that I go to on Sundays, the congregation was giving thanks to Jesus. Being the tenacious person I am I had to search the scriptures to see what the word of God said. There is only one scripture that gives thanks to Jesus. 1 Timothy 1:12. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry. The rest of the scriptures gives thanks to Our Lord, Father, or God in the name of Jesus. It is my belief that it is not scriptural giving thanks to Jesus. I have already judge. Read the scriptures and you be the judge. Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. 1 Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
